‘Atypical’ antipsychotics differ from ‘typical’ ones because they’re less likely to cause involuntary tremors in patients. These abnormal body movements can become permanent even after medication is stopped. This is known as tardive dyskinesia (TD). And it might not even start happening until after you’ve stopped taking Seroquel!

What does this mean for you?

There’s a chance you will have involuntary movements – facial twitches, for example – for the rest of your life. This is irreversible. Now, with the ‘atypical’ antipsychotic, the odds are supposedly less, but still the possibility remains.

And it’s very real. But unfortunately, once they’ve started it may be too late. That’s one problem with taking Seroquel for anxiety.
